From the village of SCHÖNLEITN you can "try out" many skiing areas and if you like you can also go skiing in Italy or Slovenia. In any case, you can especially experience light-heartedness without skis. Spend time as a family and with friends, go to the sauna during the day, use the wellness area and go for winter walks. Ski Touring
Discovering the area off the typical pistes - this is especially exciting on touring skis. As equipment, technique, avalanche and local knowledge are often lacking, we take this hurdle for you. In our hotels we make sure that you can rent the equipment and put a state-certified mountain and ski guide at your side. All you need to bring with you is fun, fitness for 3-4 hours of easy-medium ascents and a secure parallel turn.
Snowshoeing / winter hiking & cross-country skiing
The surrounding ski areas are increasingly catering for non-skiers, even without skis. Beautifully maintained winter hiking trails and cross-country skiing tracks offer the opportunity to enjoy the winter landscape away from the ski slopes. You can comfortably take the cable car to the summit or reach the Dobratsch Nature Park via the Villach Alpine Road. Whether on snowshoes or simply on foot, there is so much to discover in the Villach region - in every season.
Tobogganing & building snowmen
Right opposite the hotel village SCHÖNLEITN lies the toboggan run. You can rent a toboggan at the ski school in the hotel village, which saves space in the car. And when there is a lot of snow in the hotel village on Lake Faak, it's time to build snowmen. We are happy to provide additional equipment such as carrots. And also around the mountain resort DIE KANZLERIN you will find enough places to build snowmen, no matter how old you are.
